Following the world-wide success of David Whitney’s helmed Kandahar Break, Whitney teams up with established Writer and Producer Tim Purcell for their ambitious feature Flinders. Set in the early 19th Century it tells the true story of Matthew Flinders, the English Naval Captain and Explorer who named Australia, his captivity in Mauritius and his race against the French to bring the maps of his discovery to Europe. In the vein of Master and Commander, Flinders risks his life, love and marriage.
